5 months

Our little girl is getting big! Well, big for her anyways! A lot of her "baby friends", most younger than her, have surpassed our little light weight in the pounds category. But she's growing and healthy, just a little pipsqueak :)

The past month has had some milestones in it. Lucy rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time while Nana and Poppe were visiting on July 26th. Poppe was Lucy-sitting and she was playing on her playmat, went into the kitchen, and when he came back she was on her stomach! So no one really saw the mystery roll, but it happened. She confirmed her new trick later that afternoon for the video camera though, and now wakes up from her naps and flips over. She has even started scooting backwards off her playmat--time to get a rug for our living room! The 4 foot square isn't cutting it. She is also desperately trying to sit up but she's not quite there. She gets a little frustrated when she is on her back because she wants to see what everyone is doing!

Lucy also has a new favorite toy--Bailey! The past couple weeks have been full of staring down Bailey and even resorting to fussing when she leaves the room. Today we were outside and Bailey was running back and forth from the yard to us on the porch, and Lucy was cracking up. Bailey is still a little unsure when I try to put Lucy closer to her, although she thinks her fingers and feet taste pretty good!

We don't think we've had any teething signs yet, although I've wondered about it the past couple days. She loves putting her blanket in her mouth. I bought her one with all sorts of fabric tags around the edges and she loves that.
Unless she starts eating more, we will probably hold off solids until 6 months. We have a dr. appt. then that discusses all of it, but we are able to start oatmeal or rice cereal now if we want/need to. The garden is growing well so I can't wait to start mushing it all up for her!

Other than that, we have just been enjoying the last bit of summer. I go back to school the 11th, it will be hard to be gone from our little chica. This summer seems to have flown by. Enjoy the pictures and videos and have a happy August!

Love,
The Fingland's
