11 Months

We almost have a one year old! So crazy to say. Since pictures speak a thousand words, I decided to let them do the talking this month. Favorite Activity: Looking, pointing, and talking about pictures, framed photos, etc. I told Bryan I feel like I'm in one of those Richard Scary books, because all Lucy does is point and wants to know the name of everything! We got a video of it posted in this month's album, check out her learning skills though--Mama and Bailey(we think) are both being said!

Daddy's Little Girl: Even though she doesn't say "dada" as frequently as other "words" (ok, sounds), she still has him wrapped around her little finger, and LOVES when that door opens every day during dinner.

Mountain Climber (and now descender): Lucy discovered the extreme joy of climbing down the stairs and off the couch this month. I think my blood pressure is finally calming down after her seeing her do it every. single. day. Seriously though, this is how she giggles the evening away, being flung onto the couch by Daddy, then quickly climbing down and waiting to repeat.

Game Player: Lucy loves playing peek a boo, chasing after us and playing hide and seek, riding her dinosaur, and playing in her home made couch forts.

Little Mischievous Busybody: We can't imagine how much more this will increase once she starts walking! She's into cabinets, pulling out food from the pantry, sneaking up on the stairs, playing with the stereo, and always finding our cell phones. I suppose it's time to start putting on those cabinet locks we bought a month ago...

Walking with her friendly dinosaur...and more! Lucy will cruise with anything that will let her, including furniture, her dinosaur, laundry baskets, our hands, and her latest--the kitchen chairs. This past weekend she started standing on her own for seconds at a time without falling. She was so proud of herself! (and we were too!)

Ladies and Gentleman, we have a tooth: Lucy cut her first tooth on Thursday(ish), January 29th. It is her bottom right tooth. There's been a bit more drool and chewing lately, so hopefully some more get her very very soon!

Sister Love: Lucy pays even more attention to Bailey now, and we may even have to give credit to the dog for Lucy's first word. Although she's made tons of sounds, including mama and dada, for a couple months, "Bah-wee" is the first one she seems to direct at Bailey (or her picture). Mama and Dada are a close second now too though.

Overall, this has been a great month filled with new firsts. We are gearing up for a little 1st Birthday party too, so more details to come!
